Our story
The Origins
In the 1950s, Aline and René Mouton fell under the spell of the village of Mons, just as one falls in love with a landscape that stays with you forever. There, they bought a village house—a peaceful retreat suspended in time, far from the hustle and bustle of Marseille.
Their son Bernard grew up there amid sun-drenched summers, long weekends, and family vacations. Later, he returned with his wife Ursula and their five children, continuing this idyllic escape from the world.
In Mons, the days unfold with games of pétanque, fragrant trails, and simple, heartfelt encounters. And always, underlying it all, is that connection to stone: the stone of the houses that Bernard and Ursula have been patiently restoring over the years, as if reviving a memory.

The transmission
In 2019, their daughter Marie took up the torch with the same passion. She completed the renovation of the last house and breathed new life into the others, while respecting their character and history.
Little by little, it became clear that the best course of action was to open these places up to others. First through seasonal rentals to finance the renovations, and then by designing stays that serve as invitations to discover the hidden treasures of the Var hinterland.
Today, four houses are intertwined, each one holding a piece of history. Simple and welcoming, true to Provençal tradition, they open onto a terraced garden, offering a breathtaking view of the Bay of Cannes, the Estérel Mountains, and Saint-Raphaël.

The spirit of the place
Beyond the tranquility and beauty of the old stone buildings, Les Maisons de Mons tell, above all, a story of passing on a legacy. It is the story of a family with Provençal roots, driven by a love for authentic places and a desire to bring them to life.
A place where time slows down, where you return to what truly matters, and where every stay becomes, in its own way, a memory to cherish.
